any date for release of 0.25 :) Plz release it soon

It'll be fairly soon, I have a little bit of testing to do, and stuff before I release it.

it-hq.org's comparison between ams and articles module

I read it, but the comments on the main (default) index display are perhaps a little unfair as the concept Article's way of displaying articles is different to the default of AMS and News.

AMS may "see" there are 100 (as an example) articles, but will only do the work needed to display however many are configured, perhaps 10. The way Articles works, it will see and display all that are not hidden, so that could be anything up to the full 100 articles.

and can u do something abt meta tags too

I can, for a future release, but not for v0.25 - it'll require a fair bit more work than the title mod.

It was actually surprisingly easy to implement, so it's now in v0.25, with some options on whether, and how to display it...

Having the article title as the page title is something I've been wanting to look into, but has been lower down my list of things to do until the recent admin update.

So, yes, it should be in one of the next releases.

Well, I've tried it and I see what you mean...

I even tried converting extended characters (like quotes) to their respective HTML entities, and that didn't help either.

I can only think that it's a PHP or Apache config thing, somewhere...

You could try adding the article a bit at a time (maybe by paragraph, in the edit area), and see which bit and/or where it fails. That may give an idea on whether it's some text in the article it doesn't like, or if it's a size problem.

Hi,

Yes, the path in your .htaccess file is wrong, I have changed this in the .htaccess file for you (I've not displayed the full path here for potential securty reasons).

Well, as for permissions and the editors, it may be worth a try...

Perhaps 644, or 755 may do the job?

Do you have this problem if you enter that text into any other module with a textarea field, like the FAQs module?

And if that fails do you have a URL where I can try it for myself (it may give me a better idea of what's happening)?

I have to admit to being stumped - I've tried the article you sent on a couple of different installs I have of XOOPS and Articles, and it was fine (even using the TEXT field type).

The only other thing I can think of, is the editor you are using - are you using the default editor, or one of the third party WYSIWYG ones like SPAW?

Are you behind an HTTP proxy server (either configured by yourself, or an "invisible" proxy set by your ISP)?

It seems that proxy servers can cause this problem, so if you are, I suggest trying without the proxy.

Other than that, could you please let me know what browser you're using, and, if possible, could you send me the article you're trying to submit (zip it up with winzip, or similar) to the e-mail address in my signature below, so I can try it.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I'll look into changing this for the next release to mediumtext, which should allow articles up to 16Mb in size.

I wonder if any of the other module maintainers have experienced a similar problem...

I have the odd crash when using one of the WYSIWYG editors (SPAW, FCK Editor, etc), but I can't remember which one at present.

All I can suggest at the moment, if you aren't using the default XOOPS editor, is to try a different editor and/or make sure you have the latest versions installed (and IE!)
