To be honest, I've not been able to set up a machine with PHP and/or MySQL 5 yet.
I am using it on a XOOPS v2.0.16 based site with no apparent problems. As for PHP & MySQL 5.* in theory, it should, but I can't say for sure without testing.

Follow up: I installed it and it rocks! Thanks for this great module!
2 Bugs are only visible in the PHP debug modus and will be reported in the bug section of this forum. A third bug has to do with design and will be reported as well.
