Do you mean that $category.id in the smarty debug black shows "1" on the main index page, with no article or category selected?

If so, that variable there shows the ID of the last category selected from the database, it's not set any other way (or hard coded to "1")...

I'll sleep on it anyway to see if it's any clearer tomorrow.

As for tags like [title][/title], I can't look at wf-sections as it seems they have chosen a function name that clashes with one in my AM-Events module, so it breaks XOOPS.

In any case, extra tags to perform various tasks can be added, but not until version 2 now.

first let me say: Thank You for the great module :)

Thanks

I'm testing v1.0RC2 at XOOPS 2.0.13 and noticed that in empty category (no articles) if I select it it displays text: "Articles 1 to 0 of 0".

It is something I will refine...

I also have a question - with smarty debug I found that when I select index page with categories, the value of category.id variable is "1". Is it possible to have this value empty or "0" for index page, have it set to the category when it is selected (this is how it works now) and also have it set to the coresponding category when article is selected (at the moment it is not set in that case).

I'm not sure what you mean - the "category.id" variable in smarty is the ID of the category and changes for each category listed, so is dymanic and can't really be changed for just 1 or 0...

It could be that each forum only lists topics for the previous 100 days - so you may only see 5 listed when there are in fact 9, as listed in the forum index. You can choose to view older topics from the drop down list at the bottom.

Just in case, I have run a script that is supposed to sync forum topics, etc.

I checked the archive and found that for some reason, the new admin.php hadn't been included in the rc2 archive...

I've re-uploaded an updated archive, and have uploaded the fixed admin.php at http://support.sirium.net/files/xoopsarticles/admin.zip so you don't have to re-download the whole lot again.

Hi,

Hmm, are you sure you have 1.0rc2 (v0.27)? I ask as this XOOPS 2.2 problem was fixed in the rc2 admin.php file...

Oh good grief, that's twice I've done that now...

Hohum. Thanks for pointing that out.

Ah, yeah, I see what you mean - I forgot to add the article ordering SQL code when I did the pagination...

I've fixed this and another problem, and will release RC2 in a while.

Articles has now gone to release candidate, and will now only be for XOOPS 2.0.* line, and will only have bug fixes.

Articles version 2 will be coded with XOOPS 2.2 in mind and have the existing features, and some outlined below:

  • Ratings.

  • PDF version.

  • Sub categories.

  • Choice of different front page article/category listings.

  • Attach images (although, this can be done with the image manager?).

  • Custom meta tags.

  • RSS/XML feed.

  • Groups permissions on articles and categories.

  • Articles and/or Categories listed as articles sub menu in XOOPs main menu, with options in article/edit forms to show there.

  • Block for category titles and links, with options in cat form to show there.

  • Possibly have dedicated page for "latest", "popular" and "top rated" articles, with "read more" links from blocks, etc.
  • .
  • Clicking back/index will take you back level to the article link you came from (using an anchor).

Again, this by no means an exhaustive list, but should give an idea of what new features will go into v2.
