@dona - I don't plan on adding too much to the AM Events module. The main thing currently is recurring events, but I currently have no idea how I shall implement that.

Quote:
- the calendar block could display not only this month, but also next month. Today is the 29th of April... it would be nice to show May as well

I can make it an option to have this an next month shown in the block.

Quote:
- Making countries selectable in the upcomming events block

Again, I can make it an option to have a drop down box in the block. It may, however, add a significant amount of size (Kb) to the each page that the block is on as there are 200+ countries in the list, I think.

Quote:
- Allow user to edit own events

That will be an added option.

Quote:
- Maximum number of items per page in the upcomming events block and the possibility to click on the next page.

This would have to link to the main events page, as it's next to impossible to get the data to the block when the current page is not an AM Events module page.

I have however, made a note of your points in my "to do" file and will have a look when I'm working on AM Events again.

Thanks, I'll make a note of that and look into it.

Thanks for the report - I do know about these, they shouldn't affect how the module works, but I shall fix these for a future release.

Okay, handy bit of info - thanks for letting me know. I'll change that for a future release.

I did write about this problem in a thread over on the XOOPS web site here.

I'll quote my message here:

Quote:
I've had reports of FCKeditor not working in my Articles module under 2.0.16 (from the XOOPS editors 1.10 package).

After some investigation, I found that people were experiencing the same error in other web apps besides XOOPS. This suggests that there is/was a problem with FCKeditor that causes errors with certain versions of XOOPS.

Installation of an older, separate, version of FCKeditor works fine.

As far as I can tell, there is nothing wrong with the way the editor is called from the modules, so whether this is something that can be cured by updating the version of FCKeditor in the XOOPSeditor package, I don't know.

The gist is that right now, I don't think it's Articles as it works in XOOPS v2.2.*, and older versions of FCKEditor are fine. So, right now, I don't have an answer.

Although things have been quiet, I have been working on AM Reviews since the last Alpha preview release.

However, it has been fighting me all the way and no other PHP project I have worked on has given me so much grief in one way or another.

I had hoped to have a beta version out by now, but I'm no where near this stage yet, and I'm running out of time before I have to start on another, and quite large, project that will need to be done by September.

Hohum.

Clare and zorglub, I'll try and answer both your posts in one.

The looks side of things: It's obviously not finished yet, so it's not that important just yet. However, AM Reviews does use for the most part use the default XOOPS CSS classes and IDs - an example being the listing of reviews for a certain category, these use the same classes in the default XOOPS CSS file as the news module does. Because of this, it is dependant on the theme used. This also means that the look can modified to match the site.

Multiple ratings: (the ability to add more than one rating per review, or "rating categories" as they are known in myReviews) I wasn't going to add this, or not at least until a future release. But this has been requested enough times that it has now been pushed up the list. I'm not exactly sure how to implement it just yet, but I'll look into it.

Text editor: AM Reviews already uses the default XOOPS DHTML editor, and should support the WYSIWYG editors such as SPAW, fckeditor, etc. Although, I have yet to check these.

zorglub, I would appreciate it if you could send me your modified copy of myReviews to andy{AT}sirium{DOT}net .

To be honest, I've not been able to set up a machine with PHP and/or MySQL 5 yet.

I am using it on a XOOPS v2.0.16 based site with no apparent problems.

As for PHP & MySQL 5.* in theory, it should, but I can't say for sure without testing.

Quote:
1) How do i know the url of a article made with this module.

Unless I've misunderstood your question, you can simply navigate to the article and the URL is displayed in the browser's url entry box.

Quote:
2) Can this module display only articles of a particular category and if so, how ??

If you click on a category name, only articles in that category are displayed. Click here for an example.
