Firstly, a quick note that some would consider PHP v5 and mySQL v5 a little "cutting edge" for a production enviroment - you may find several PHP/mySQL applications have problems running under them.

Anyway, I don't currently have a set up similar to yours to be able to test fully, but I'll set something up and see if I can replicate the problem.

de line starting with %lt;!-- is the problem. I think this is allowed, to comment some code but not accepted by php 5.0 when i deleted that line everything stil worked

I have the odd crash when using one of the WYSIWYG editors (SPAW, FCK Editor, etc), but I can't remember which one at present.

All I can suggest at the moment, if you aren't using the default XOOPS editor, is to try a different editor and/or make sure you have the latest versions installed (and IE!)
